Organized in 1936, the Chippewa County Historical Society preserves and emphasizes the importance of history in the county. Historic Chippewa City and its Resource Center are two of the Society's many projects which also include: the Swensson Farm Museum, Lac qui Parle Mission, presentation of county-wide programs, identification of historic sites, development of a Chippewa County Library and Resource Center, genealogical research, and sponsorship of events such as Heritage Days and Christmas in the Village |
