Fiesta Days
(Third Weekend in June)

Celebrate Montevideo's sister city relationship with Montevideo, Uruguay during this summer festival. Fireworks, arts and crafts, sports events, Taste of Montevideo and a variety of other entertainment and activities for the entire family. Don't miss the Grande Day Parade, starting at 1 PM on Father's Day, one of the best small town parades in Minnesota! Chippewa City  
(May - September and by appointment)

Step back in time at Chippewa City, a 23 building museum owned and operated by the Chippewa County Historical Society. Featuring a pioneer church, school and historical homes; Chippewa City gives a glimpse of a bygone era and a simpler time. Take a guided tour, or simply stroll in the beautiful park setting. Christmas in the Village
(December)

Visit Chippewa City on the first Saturday in December and experience an old-fashioned Christmas, complete with sleigh rides, entertainment, food, gift shop, demonstrations and much more! For further information call Chippewa City at 320-269-7636.

Swensson Farm Museum
(May - September)

Just minutes outside of Montevideo, the Olof Swensson Farm Museum consists of a 17 acre farmstead, complete with timber-frame barn, grist mill remains and hand cut granite monuments. The 22 room brick farm house rests on a foundation of local granite and is included on the National Register. Call 320-269-7636 for further information.

Quilt Show
(October, biannually)

The Flying Geese quilters display exceptional examples of mid-western quilting, both old and new. Quilting materials and supplies are also available for sale. Call 320-269-7636 for further information.

Steam Threshing Show
(third weekend in August)

Experience an authentic antique harvest when you join the Minnesota Valley Antique Farm Power and Machinery Association at their annual Threshing Show, each August, at Heritage Hill (4 miles East of Montevideo on Hwy 7 and 1/4 Mile South on Co. Rd 7). Vintage farm machinery, automobiles, trucks and other displays are fully restored and operational.

Chippewa County Fair
(second week of August) 

The Chippewa County Fair celebrates our agricultural heritage. Started in 1875, this annual get together is a family favorite. With the emphasis on fun, 4-H, FFA and open exhibits are displayed in various divisions. Other highlights include business displays, grand stand events, carnival and many other activities.

Speedway Action   
(mid-May to mid-September)

The Fiesta City Speedway offers fast paced racing action every Friday evening during racing season. Drivers compete in four classes -- Hobby Stock, IMCA Street Stock, IMCA Modified and IMCA Late Model. Join: us for fast paced speedway action.
